Stockholm duo take grunge and rock dynamics from the likes of QOTSA and Alice In Chains, yet are able to throw in fistfuls of emotional sing-along choruses to accompany the dirtiness of the two.

Born in Chicago, Derek began writing music at the age of 11. After moving to Ashland, Oregon in 2004, he birthed multiple projects throughout highschool, but none ever reached fruition. Migrating north to Portland in summer 2012 Derek began writing for a new project ‘Golden Mean’ with late partner Trevor Watson (RIP)-formerly of The Heck. With future plans to move to Sweden, GM ceased and Derek was left with open arms to fill with a new project.

Shifting Tides was born.

Born in Mendoza, Tincho started playing drums at the early age of 4, leaving no pot, pan or pillow safe in the home. Originally musically educated through the church, he quickly grew into his skin behind the kit. Obsessed with the early found loud sound, Tincho pushed for solid musical projects  whether it be between the church or rock and metal bands. Like Derek, these early projects never fully came to bare fruit. Leaving him with his lifelong musical partner (brother) Fernando Vargas, they worked many projects until moving to Norway in 2010 (Tincho) and 2015 (Fernando) to join The Nash Brothers. After a solid run The Nash Brothers fizzled and Tincho moved to Stockholm in search of a change of pace. Soon thereafter he met Derek.

Combing through piles of demos with the help of producer Ale Ortiz, ST narrowed them down to nine tracks to round out their debut record 'Crooked From The Womb'. It is available worldwide on all streaming platforms including the music video for the debut single ‘Embrace The Suck’.
